The Verge在最近上手了联想展示的世界首款可折叠屏PC原型。事实上，当手机厂商三星、华为、小米纷纷拿出相应的可折叠屏手机原型后，PC版的可折叠屏原型一直都在我们的预期之中。只不过，可折叠屏PC的节奏还是慢了半拍，或许在这个过程中PC需要思考的问题也不亚于可折叠屏手机需要思考的问题，甚至更多些。那么联想的这款可折叠屏PC原型究竟如何呢？
联想展示的ThinkPad原型机，采用了我们此前在手机上的看到的可折叠屏技术，只不过与之相比应用在了更大的屏幕上，技术也略有迭代。比较有意思的是，虽然以我们的角度来看，可折叠屏PC的节奏慢了半拍，但是联想却表示他们已经开发这款原型长达三年时间，并且打算在2020年推出成品，预计将使其成为联想ThinkPad X1高端品牌的一员。
显然，联想并不打算将其打造成为平板电脑那样的辅助计算设备，而是真正将其定位于笔记本。但是这款笔记本却又有十分不一样的地方。我们知道，手机厂商要做折叠屏是为了增大手机可用的屏幕面积，这是针对手机本身固有问题（屏幕太小）的解决；但是折叠屏笔记本想要实现的，显然不是增大屏幕面积。可能恰恰相反，而是节省笔记本空间，让同样尺寸下的折叠屏PC比其他PC更小。
既然提到尺寸，就不得不对这款笔记本有所描述，它采用了13.3英寸的4：3比例的2K OLED屏幕。The Verge在上手过程中表示，联想称这款笔记本不超过两磅（0.9Kg），而大小大概相当于一本大开本的哈利波特精装书，甚至可能更大。
在实际体验过程中，联想的可折叠屏PC原型在Windows中进行触摸功能交互还算顺利。显然，可折叠屏带来的最大问题在于软件的优化跟适配以及耐用性问题。在联想这款PC上，它表现得又如何呢？
事实上，在三星折叠屏手机因为故障而导致延期发布后，折叠屏的耐用性问题显然变得越来越重要。在联想可折叠屏PC上，这款硬件事实上还未完成，所以铰链部分并不坚固。屏幕方面可视角度也并不好，即使有很小角度的偏差也会发现颜色的变化——而这显然是折叠屏标志性的问题之一。很明显，联想在接下来还需要花费大量时间对硬件进行调优改善。
而联想显然也思考过这款设备的使用场景以及如何使用的问题。例如，将其完全打开用作平板、或者部分折叠让它看起来就像一本书、内置的支架又允许你把它撑在桌子上并配合无线键盘和触摸板使用。此外，用户也可以把它用作传统笔记本的形式，在底部（原本的右侧）出现虚拟键盘，由于电池靠近右侧使得它不会因此而翻转。但是可能会出现在其他方式使用时右侧偏重的现象。联想也为其绑定了一支Wacom笔，可以通过USB-C充电。此外，这款设备并没有耳机插孔。
由于是原型机，联想并未提供其他规格参数，只单单表示采用英特尔CPU。内存存储甚至电量联想都尽力保持着神秘感，只是单单声称设计的目标是全天使用。可能也由于三星的前车之鉴，联想在尽力避免类似问题的出现，在测试过程中联想几乎进行了两倍于三星的测试。而现在距离2020年的发布时间，还有长达数月之久，似乎联想有着充足的时间跟精力来解决可折叠屏PC可能会遇到的问题。
事实上，联想展示的未完成品，没有具体价格，也没有发布日期。更像是一种宣告。而关于适配问题The Verge也并没有在文中进行过多的说明，在The Verge拍摄的视频中我们可以看到部分端倪。至少在将该PC用作传统模式写作时，虽然出现了虚拟键盘，但是上半部分的文档也跟随着延伸至了下半部分，造成并不太好的观感。
